Technology in Service of Atmosphere
At Phoenix Starforge Games, our development toolkit centers around proven, world-class industry standards: Unreal Engine for interactive simulation and real-time rendering, and Blender for 3D asset craftsmanship.
Unreal Engine
We leverage Unreal Engine as our primary real-time interactive framework. Its physically based materials, advanced lighting pipelines, dynamic audio sub-systems, and robust physics integrations allow us to prototype complex locomotive and vehicle mechanics with rapid iteration.
Blender
Blender serves as our principal DCC (Digital Content Creation) suite. From high-poly locomotive boiler architecture to aerodynamic vehicle body curvature and industrial switchyard props, Blender enables tight control over topology, UV unwrapping, and mechanical pivot points.
Dynamic Physics & Rail Momentum Prototyping
Simulation requires nuanced mechanical feel. We prototype models for rail adhesion, gradient resistance, tire contact friction, and suspension travel to test and tune gameplay feel early in development.
Scalable Cross-Platform Profiling
A game engine is only as good as its frame pacing. We structure our asset budgets from day one around strict polygon counts, texture memory streaming pools, and asynchronous shader pre-caching to avoid frame hitching.
